You will need

1 old coathanger

florist’s wire

gardening gloves

1 bag holly with berries

1 bag moss

newspaper

wire cutters

1 red ribbon (about 10 inches)

1. Make the ring

Open out the coathanger and work into a wire circle with your hands. Leave the hook at the top of the circle so you can hang your wreath later.

2. Cover the ring

Wind lengths of rolled newspaper around the wire to cover and thicken the ring and bind in place with florist’s wire. Cover the newspaper with a layer of gardening moss (available from florists) and bind in place with florist’s wire. A traditional English wreath will also contain ivy so consider winding some into the wreath base now.
